hey you said this is done on bristol smooth is bristol the brand?.. im wanting to try out some new paper for graphite any pointers?

They do a smooth and a vellum. I prefer the smooth. The vellum has a 'tooth' to it, (rougher) And personally I don't think it blends as well as the smooth.
There are many types of paper but I'm pretty monogamous. I find one I like and stick with it. I should really try some others... Stuck in my ways I suppose.

Sorry for the lateness of this reply. Only just seen the message.
I don't think I would describe it as a grain. And there is no definite pattern to it, but it is noticeable. It's just seems rougher than the normal stuff. If you could feel them you would be able to tell the difference. :)
